This past weekend I had the great pleasure of taking my high school friends to Sharptop for the weekend. I was in the midst of 2 crazy weeks at work and didn't go into the weekend as rested as I would have liked, but it turned out to be a special weekend nonetheless. I had to drive up separately from everyone else, but I enjoyed some good conversation with friends who work at camp before my high school friends arrived. Once the buses rolled in it was nonstop until Sunday morning when they rolled out.
There was a lot of singing and dancing and goofiness, a very early morning hike up Sharptop mountain, good food and great conversation. My girls and I shared a room with some girls from another school. It ended up being a good mix. I'm thankful for my new friend and cabin buddy, Laura and her little friend Mr. Quackles.
I ended up working the Quantum on Saturday afternoon but was able to spend some good time with friends and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon outside. Free time ended with a helicopter landing in the middle of the wiffleball field at camp and I had a front row view. Crazy indeed.
My favorite part of the weekend was hearing my friend Jonesie speak. He did such a great job presenting the gospel of Jesus to my high school friends. I think we all walked away seeing Jesus and understanding his love for us a little bit more clearly then when the weekend started.
