The Final Hour
by Andrew Klavan

When it comes to books, I have a love for all things FBI/CIA/counter-terrorism. I generally enjoy all types of thriller or suspense novels, so I was excited when this one came in the mail. It's the fourth book in Klavan's Homelander Series about a teenager named Charlie West. He's your average high school kid who woke up one day wanted by the police for murder and being hunted by terrorists. His memory, once lost, returns with a not so pleasant realization: he knows where the terrorists will strike next. But he's stuck in prison fighting against ruthless prison gangs and guards. Maybe not so average after all.
I appreciate young adult novels that are well-written and really engage younger readers. Klavan addresses issues relevant to our world today that maybe young adults wouldn't be so inclined to think about. And he does it in a way that makes you want to stay up just a little longer to read just one more page, even if some of the scenarios are a little far fetched for a teenage boy. It's a great summer read when you're sitting by the pool or on the beach, especially if you like the suspense novels as I do.
I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their book review program. I was not required to write a positive review; the opinions expressed are my own.
